Our vision for what might be possible

When the Municipality of Lac-Tremblant-Nord was formed in 1915, the waterfronts of Lac Tremblant, Lac Bibite and Lac Gervais were carved out of the crown's landholdings and sold to prospective buyers who wished to build country residences on waterfronts in the wilderness. The crown, together with the municipality, remained owners of close to 70% of the land, almost all of which has remained wilderness to this day. In addition to the public wilderness land, some of the lots in Lac-Tremblant-Nord extend far back from the waterfront, even up mountain sides and over ridges and summits. The hinterland of these properties remains as wilderness. The land areas in white on the schematic show the potential for wilderness conservation if all of Lac-Tremblant-Nord's public and private hinterland wilderness was to be formally conserved as an ecologically important wilderness reserve. That is our vision.
